The Unexpected Everything and Since You’ve Been Gone (spoiler free review)

Morgan Matson is a genius writer who creates fun summery books that also address issues that affect teenagers. These include friendships, school stress, shyness etc. Although the issues aren’t the main theme of the books they still show the issue and are able to help people. They also contain a lot of small issues that most teenagers face at some point, so it’s very relatable.

The relationships in these books are fun to read about but are also relatable and realistic. They are not without their issues which make them interesting and realistic. They feel real and the characters actually feel good for each other at this stage of their lives, which is annoyingly uncommon in young adult literature. The realationsships are also not the main focus of the books which makes the books more entertaining.

I love that friendships are the most important parts of these books because as a teenager friends are a large and important part of my life. The books contain friendships for life and friendships  that won’t last as long. They feel like normal friendships.

I can’t wait to read more of Morgan Matson’s books.
